Nuon Self-Service is Generally Available

A couple months ago we soft-launched self-service for Nuon Cloud. Since then we’ve been gathering feedback and iterating on it, and we think it’s finally ready for a wider audience. This is something we’ve wanted to do for a long time, but it wasn’t until recently that we felt Nuon was ready.

We’ve invested more time and energy into the Bring Your Own Cloud (BYOC) space than anyone, and we’re confident there’s no easier way to package, install, update, and monitor a BYOC app. But for self-service, it wasn’t enough for Nuon to be powerful, it also needed to be approachable. We had to ensure that anyone, even someone new to BYOC, could sign up and have a great experience.

To that end, we made it a top priority this year to provide a polished and intuitive experience. We’ve overhauled both the web and CLI interface, added tons of features to make managing installs as easy as possible, and built a comprehensive library of example app configs you can reference to get up to speed on how to support the most popular architectures.

With all of this in place, we think Nuon is finally ready for anyone, even BYOC neophytes, to sign up and get started on their own.

To make the process as smooth as possible, we’ve put together a streamlined sign-up and onboarding flow. This will guide you through creating your first app and install. Using one of our example configs, you can be up and running in minutes, and learn everything you need to know to get started packaging and installing your own apps.

And we don’t plan to stop here. We’re actively testing and iterating on improvements and new features to make Nuon easier and more powerful, such as a customer-facing dashboard, an LSP server, improved app versioning, and more. We look forward to continuing to learn and iterate based on everyone’s feedback.
